Of Cars and Hedges
Ahh... animations... dun you just love them? And of course, we have the latest in Pixar/Disney vs Dreamworks Animation SKG productions. Namely, Cars vs Over the Hedge.
To me, both animations had their strong point(s), but overall, I felt Cars gave me a larger "another satisfied customer" feeling.. in other words, value for my precious SEVEN SGD!
Here's a quick shootout (IMHO) between them:
Storyline = Cars! (Both had their "moralistic" story to tell.. but Cars put it through more subtly.)
Animation = Over the Hedge! (Rendering Fur physics >>> Rendering Reflective surfaces. 'nuff said.)
Soundtrack = Cars! (Just visit the website links above!)
Humour = Cars! (See below for more!)
There you have it! And as I'll elaborate... Cars took the humour category for me cuz of the "Pixar Short" (One Man Band) preceding the actual movie. If you haven't seen the movie, you might want to take a look at the short below to see what I'm getting at. And if you have seen the movie, well, sometimes it's good to see it again isn't it?
Enjoy then, courtesy of 'higuizmo' who uploaded it to 'Dailymotion' (Another one of them video upload sites like Youtube, VeOh, etc.)

Congratulations ACJC Band!
Just got news that ACJC got "Judge's Choice" and has thus been chosen to perform for the "FESTIVAL COMMAND PERFORMANCE" on the 26th of June.
They were brilliant at their adjudicated performance yesterday night playing Movement for Rosa and Turandot, wish I had a recording for yer guys, coz the hall sounds as good as it looks!
*Groan* that means it's gonna cost me $35 to go watch them at the opera house now...

2 new members of Club 27
A long time coming since we did anything like this.. but our lucky pals Darren and T3 (sans Eric cuz he is away is New York) were given a messy (crabs!) B-day dinner at 'Jackson's Place' followed by a drinks and cake session at 'Moonstone Theatre'.
Selected photos below!
Selected photos below!
While looking for the B-day cake, we caught Astro Boy copping a feel! Cheeky!
The early birds waiting for the 7 late comers! Sorry! Oh, we had one uninvited guest who made a surprising appearance also.. *whisper* Mr./Dr. Lee. *whisper*
The attendees plus the "tiramisu" cake! Front Row: Daniel, Darren and T3
Middle Row: BDSM Queen aka Kong Qi Tou aka Aunty Ho, Sandra, Jane and Me
Back Row: Benjamin, Ivan, Patrick, Desmond, Jeffrey our host, Ah-Boon and Jonathan
After cake, drinks! Well, sort of...
Mario Kart addicts! Join the ACSWO Nintendo DS fanclub today!
Sudoku addict!
Aunty Ho trying her best at PC Sudoku.. while everyone waits to go home!
Desmond finding out his brain age...
"WTF?!?!? I'm 46?! Stupid game!"
And that wraps things up!
